How to create custom Content Widget?

I would like to have an additional content item like "Content Banner" in WYSIWYG dropdown.

is it possible to create such custom items in Backoffice and Yves? How?

The idea is to dynamically pass all data displayed on the frontend and make life easier for content editors.
